| This is an engraveing of the Copernicus Therory. The Copernicus Therory was a therory that the sun is the center of the uiverse. In the Renaissance the church was threateden when people started beliveing that the church was telling lies about the earth being the center of the universe, people turned on the church and the church list much power. |
This a statue of a half naked man. he is half naked because in the time of the Renaissance people belived that the body was created by god, there for the body was perfict. The statues with clothes had less importance than thoese ones of half or full naked statues. This is why if you look up imiges about the Renaissance you will find paintings and sculptures of half dressed or naked people. |
